After a record-crowd witnessed the Dallas Cowboys losing the first-ever NFL game in the Dallas Cowboys Stadium to the New York Giants a week earlier, the Dallas Cowboy Stadium ticket holders hoped to see a better performance from offense quarterback Tony Romo. Instead, they saw an improved performance, but still one without any consistency as the Cowboys held on to defeat the Carolina Panthers 21-7.
While running back Marion Barber sat out with a bruised thigh, backup running backs Felix Jones and Tashard Choice proved to be more than capable backups amassing 176 yards on the ground. Romo avoided any interceptions like the three a week earlier and finished completing 22 of 33 passes for 255 yards. All of it combined and the Cowboys still struggled to score.
